Lakshmi Narayan
The Temple of Lord Lakshmi Narayan (31° 51' 0.12" N 76° 30' 21.52" E) near Beas River is another Historical Site and Temple but as we just pay attention to over hyped things and care less of the glorious history of our own Country and States! Cricket still rocks and just like other games Hockey is also looked down forget about Kabbadi and Khokho :D!
Well there are numerous Forts and Temples of Historical Importance but are ignored and now are in ruins but all thanks to the engineers of that time they used good stuff and these forts are still breathing and surviving to tell about their time of Glory and Good Days.
Not to mention how much we care for our Historical Sites is well known from the temples and forts site of Bilaspur that is annually submerged in so called Gobind Sagar Lake made by strangulating another Holy River Sutlej (for development).

With the passage of time and sand with silt has engulfed the complete Fort Site and now only left are the three Temples that show up between Jan to June months and during monsoon they also dive in to the artificial lake for long time slumber.

Some of the officials claim of these sites being too high and far in mountains or talk away with silly excuses!
But then some are easily accessible and still they are in ruins or in neglect…..and some are lucky to be with in human population just like the Temple of Lakshmi Narayana in Alampur district Kangra on National Highway 39 with 5 km of distance from Sujanpur Tihra of Hamirpur district and 51 km of distance from Palampur.
Even the ones within human population don’t enjoy the care they should had. I would have also not come to know of its existence had I not noticed a tiny board detailing its approximate time and year of establishment.
Amazingly not many locals in Kangra district are aware of it and that is sure a BIG SURPRISE.
They say “Temple of Lakshmi Narayana in Alampur” with a surprised tone! And some even don’t know if there is some place called Alampur in Kangra!
So this time I decided to check in and get some info….but got no details on it. All I got to know was that it was built around year 1600 to 1655 and by the Katoch Rulers!
It’s 2014 and back 1655 and this temple is still standing strong waiting for good care and I wonder how many are out there with same hope….there is another temple and fort in Kotla Mubarikpur also in complete neglect and ruins…and plenty in Chamba district.
